On July 1st 2006 the President declared an Emergency for NY counties: Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Herkimer, Montgomery, Oneida, Orange, Otsego, Schoharie, Sullivan, Tioga and Ulster. If you have damages because of the flooding beginning on June 26 you may apply by phone or online at http://www.fema.gov/

The Governor of New York State created the New york State Individula and Family Grant Program to provide assistance to those citizens who were victims of the flooding as well as the communities in which they live. This is a 25 million dollar commitment of state dollars to provide much needed assistance in as timely a fashion as possible.
